Doxycycline

It is ab antibiotic medicine it is used to treat a lots of bacterial infections.  It works to inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, that stops bacterial growth.



Uses

  • It is used in bacterial infections 
  • Respiratory infections eg., pneumonia, bronchitis 
  • Skin infections e.g., Acne, rosacea 
  • Sexually transmitted diseases eg., Chlamydia, gonorrhoea
  • Lyme disease
  • Malaria Prevention and Treatment 
  • Periodontal disease 

Dosage 

For adults ▪︎ Typically 100mg every 12 hours n the frist day, then 100mg once daily of every 12 hours, depending on infection severity. 

Dosage ▪︎ Doasage varies based on infection type, severity, and paitent health. 

Administration ▪︎ Take with or without food.  Avoid taking with dairy products or antacids as they can affect absorption. 

Course completion ▪︎ Finsih the full course as prescribed. 

Consultation ▪︎ Consult a healthcare provider before stopping.
